Selection Box Plus

Create a 3D section box around an element picked from a linked model. Keep this window open and continue interacting with Revit while the tool is active - pan/zoom, change views, or pick another element.

  1. Enter an offset. Type an offset value in the Offset field in project units (e.g. mm, cm, m or ft). The default is 0.
  2. Begin selection. Click 'Select from Link' to start picking. Press Esc to cancel selection at any time.
  3. Section box behavior. The tool will find or create a 3D view named 'Selection Box Plus' and set the active view's section box to the picked element's extents, expanded by the offset value.
  4. Review and repeat. Adjust the view as needed. Click 'Select from Link' again to isolate a different element.

Notes: Only the host view's section box is changed - linked files are not modified. To return to the full model, disable the Section Box parameter in the view's properties.
